PSICOLOGIA E NATALE: COLLOQUIO TRA UNA PSICOLOGA E BABBO NATALE

“Questo Natale sarà un po’ diverso” è la frase che accompagna più spesso i commenti di questo periodo. Il 2020 è stato un anno pieno di brutte sorprese, di sacrifici, all’insegna della perdita economica e della paura di morire… quindi che Natale ci possiamo aspettare? Ho pensato di fare questa domanda proprio a Babbo Natale, il simbolo del 25 dicembre che dai tempi antichi rallegra le famiglie con i suoi regali.

“Ciao Babbo Natale, ti ringrazio per avermi permesso quest’intervista. Molti mettono in dubbio la tua figura:  cosa ne pensi a riguardo?”

Ciao Valentina, grazie a te per avermi chiamato, è bello poter raccontare la propria storia ad adulti e bambini! È vero, come ogni personaggio storico e millenario, le leggende che ruotano attorno al mio nome sono sempre state molte, e prendono ispirazione dalla cultura dove sono nate. Ad esempio gli italiani mi associano a San Nicola, un vescovo del 270 vissuto nella odierna Turchia, che ha salvato tre ragazze povere donando loro una dote, oppure che ha riportato in vita tre giovani ragazzi finiti sotto le grinfie di due cattivi locandieri. Insomma, gli adulti hanno sempre bisogno di darmi un collocazione logica e temporale, per poi confutarla fino a quando non diventa vera. I bambini invece… beh, loro sono un’altra cosa! Non hanno bisogno di cercare la verità, perché basta la gioia dell’immaginazione: se viverla così li rende felice, perché rovinare tutto facendo il calcolo della velocità a cui vanno le mie renne per fermarsi in ogni casa? È magia, e la magia non ha un’unita di misura! Mi ricordo di te da bambina, che mi lasciavi il latte e i biscotti sotto l’albero, proprio la notte del 24 dicembre perché potessi ricaricarmi dopo i lunghi viaggi in giro per la Terra Oh Oh Oh! 

“Che bei ricordi Babbo Natale! È vero, ogni anno la sera ti lasciavo qualcosa di buono e mi ricordo che al mattino trovavo il piattino e il bicchiere vuoto e un biglietto in cui mi ringraziavi con gioia! Hai ragione, a volte noi adulti con la nostra razionalità ci perdiamo un po’ il bello dell’immaginazione e della sorpresa. Immagino sia un momento molto impegnativo per i preparativi! Come immagini questo Natale rispetto a quelli passati?” 

Sicuramente sarà un Natale diverso, ma sono contento nel vedere che i bambini non hanno perso la speranza. Quando ricevo le loro letterine con i desideri mi si riempie il cuore, perché ogni bambino, a suo modo racconta cos’è la felicità… per alcuni è un gioco tecnologico, per altri è un dono per i genitori, per altri ancora è la salute dei nonni. Nonostante faccia questo lavoro da anni, mi commuovo ogni volta, perché come dico sempre, non c’è una richiesta giusta o sbagliata, ognuna è unica nel suo genere, proprio come ogni bambino che in quel momento esprime un bisogno specifico. Mi piacerebbe che anche gli adulti potessero scrivermi la loro lettera, con i loro desideri e i loro sogni… sai, a volte aiuta staccarsi dalla realtà, triste e cupa come quest’anno e lasciarsi trasportare dalla propria immaginazione, pensando che un uomo buono, grande e grosso, di rosso vestito, per una notte si potrà occupare dei loro desideri. 

Alla fine sai perché dopo tanti anni io esisto ancora? Perché sono nel cuore di ognuno di voi. C’è un piccolo Babbo Natale in ogni regalo che trovate sotto l’albero, in ogni cena che preparate per amici e parenti, in ogni pallina natalizia che appendete ai vostri amati alberi. E non importa la grandezza, la ricchezza o la maestosità, ma lo spirito con cui lo fate, con la voglia di strappare un sorriso e dire “Anche quest’anno ti ho pensato!”. Ecco, forse quest’anno, più di altri dovremmo vederla così: abbiamo affrontato un periodo difficile e perso i nostri cari, ma non nascondiamo anche la nostra piccola parte felice e sognante che chiamiamo Babbo Natale.  

“Se potessi fare un augurio speciale, a chi lo rivolgeresti?”

Beh, ovviamente a tutti, ma soprattutto a coloro che hanno perso la speranza in me, perché sono loro che hanno più bisogno. A quelli che si sentono troppo cresciuti per Babbo Natale, a quelli che passeranno feste difficili e a quelli che non hanno più immaginazione: a loro mando i miei auguri, nella speranza che possano, almeno per la notte di Natale, emozionarsi come quando erano bambini di fronte allo scampanellio delle mie renne!

Ps: le renne e i folletti si sono raccomandati di portare i loro saluti e i ringraziamenti per tutti i pensieri che ricevono da bambini e adulti!
