In questo momento tutto il mondo sta affrontando quella che l’OMS ha definito una pandemia globale, che ci ha costretti a ricorrere a misure preventive e riparative importanti, tra le quali la possibilità di uscire e recarsi a lavoro solo se strettamente necessario. Le aziende, per adempiere al meglio a questa misura restrittiva che limita i contagi da COVID-19, ha preferito sostituire il classico lavoro da ufficio dei propri dipendenti con lo “smart working”: le persone possono lavorare da casa. Un bel cambiamento, soprattutto per coloro che erano abituati a spostarsi molto e trascorrere buona parte della giornata in un ufficio insieme ai colleghi. Per questo motivo ho deciso di intervistare Francesco Morotti, un giovane ragazzo di 28 anni che ho avuto il piacere di conoscere qualche mese fa e di cui ho particolare stima.
“Francesco, puoi raccontare ai lettori in cosa consisteva il tuo lavoro fino a febbraio?”
Certamente. Nel 2020 il mio ufficio ha le dimensioni di uno zainetto: un pc e una connessione internet sono tutto quello di cui ho bisogno! Ad oggi mi occupo di after sales in un’azienda di valvole oil and gas, il che vuol dire che supporto il cliente nel post-vendita, per una semplice chiacchierata o per assistenza in impianti petroliferi onshore e offshore, per cantieri o per navi. Il mio lavoro mi porta a girare molto per il mondo e ho bisogno di aver sempre con me il mio “ufficio”.
“Deve essere molto interessante! Cosa voleva dire per te ‘viaggiare per lavoro’?”
Viaggiare per lavoro ha i suoi pro e i sui contro: spesso sono solo, quindi posso contare esclusivamente su me stesso. I posti in cui vado non sempre sono paradisi vacanzieri o posti “instagrammabili”. D’altra parte però ho opportunità uniche: vedo località inusuali, faccio esperienze come dormire in un container nel deserto, lavoro su navi petrolifere, condivido un pasto mangiato con le mani o mi bevo una birra in un pub coreano con gente da ogni dove. Riuscire a lavorare e trovare anche momenti per svolgere attività o visitare luoghi non è facile… Bisogna ritagliarsi del tempo ed avere abbastanza energie, soprattutto se stai pure studiando per una laurea.
“Passare da questa tipologia di lavoro, molto attiva e stimolante, ad una più sedentaria non deve essere stato facile. Come ti sei organizzato il tuo smart working?”
Come dicevo prima, avere l’ufficio in uno zaino, oggi, è chiamato smart working: letteralmente significa lavoro intelligente o agile, ciò comporta che puoi lavorare quando e dove vuoi, basta garantire il raggiungimento degli obiettivi o delle fasi di lavoro pre-concordate. In questo periodo questo format di lavoro sta spopolando, essendo tutti a casa in quarantena e avendo lunghe giornate libere può anche essere piacevole lavorare dalla propria abitazione, organizzandosi come meglio si crede. È possibile lavorare ancora in pigiama dal tuo letto alle sei del mattino, durante la sacrosanta pausa pranzo o di sera, o anche dopo un allenamento fai da te in salone!
“Mi pare di capire che nonostante tu viaggiassi molto per il mondo e la tua presenza fosse richiesta direttamente sul posto di lavoro, con i clienti, ad oggi riesci comunque a lavorare da casa. Questo ci fa riflettere molto su quanto la tecnologia ci possa aiutare a connetterci agli altri e che tale connessione possa in qualche modo sostituire una presenza reale. Qual è il tuo pensiero a riguardo?”
A prima vista lo smart working sembrerebbe facile e vantaggioso, ma forse è più impegnativo di quello che pensiamo: a casa si hanno mille distrazioni, non si ha la praticità della propria scrivania che invece avremmo se fossimo in ufficio, la presenza di altri colleghi a cui chiedere consigli, con cui confrontarsi o fare la tanto amata pausa caffè! È un’alternativa pratica e tecnologica per continuare a svolgere la propria attività o il lavoro in condizioni a volte anomale e temporanee, ma, a parer mio, non può sostituire la normalità e l’efficienza dell’ufficio.
Ringrazio sentitamente Francesco Morotti per questa intervista, che ci ha permesso di vedere lo smart working sotto punti di vista diversi, alcuni vantaggiosi come la comodità e la facilità di connessione, altri più sfavorevoli, come la scarsa praticità e la mancanza della relazione dal vivo.
Per concludere, vorrei vivamente ringraziare tutti quelli che come Francesco lavorano da casa, quelli che sono in prima linea negli Ospedali, e tutti coloro che mandano avanti i servizi di prima necessità nonostante l’emergenza sanitaria in corso.
